Yellow Steps

Jenn Doeve founded Yellow Steps on a belief that the best learning happens when students step outside the classroom and into the world around them. Through workshops, residencies, and place-based education programs, she partners with teachers and schools to turn their community into the curriculum — getting students out into their environment while still hitting every goal that matters.

The mission is layered and deeply purposeful. Our job was to make it feel immediately clear.

Yellow Steps sits at the intersection of education and consulting — serving individual teachers and the schools trying to support them.

Two audiences, a rich concept to explain, and a founder who needed to feel like both a credible expert and an approachable partner.

This was translation work as much as design work. The risk with a mission this thoughtful is that it can easily read as abstract or academic — compelling to people who already get it, confusing to everyone else. The brand needed to feel grounded and purpose-driven without losing the warmth that makes Jenn's approach actually work in schools.

We built a visual identity that signals movement and progress without being literal about it — calm, steady, and rooted in real-world impact. The website organizes her programs clearly, separates her two audiences without making either feel secondary, and guides people toward action, whether they're an individual teacher exploring a free audio course or a school administrator ready to schedule a consultation.

The result is a brand that carries the weight of the mission and makes people get it faster.
